ARKAK

Camera Permissions

Why is the camera not opening?

Symptoms

  • Tapping a capture or photo action does nothing.
  • The camera view appears black or immediately closes.

Likely causes

  • Camera permission has not been granted, or was denied earlier.
  • Camera access is restricted by a device management profile or Screen Time restrictions.
  • No camera is available — for example, in the Simulator.

Step-by-step checks

  1. Open Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Camera and confirm ARKAK is enabled.
  2. Check Screen Time ▸ Content & Privacy Restrictions for a camera restriction.
  3. If the device is managed by your organization, confirm the profile permits camera use.

Recommended solution

Grant camera access in Settings and reopen the workflow. ARKAK distinguishes between not-yet-asked, denied, restricted and unavailable, and reports which of these applies rather than failing silently — the message on screen tells you which state you are in.
